In science lately we have been learning the parts of an animal cell and a human cell. Two parts of human call is the nucles and the cell membrane. The cell wall is the one who controls who is able to come and out. The nucles is the kind of the boss of the whole cell. Like for example the nucles is the boss of a very famous company for example the water company Dasani. The cell wall is more like the guy in the booth letting the people who are supposed to come in and kick out the people who are not supposed to be there. Last Friday we had the edible cell project we had to do in twenty minutes.
It was also fun getting to acctually eating the edible cell. It was kind of a good way to learn the cell parts and know what they do.Even though only half our group got the answers to the questions the teacher was asking about the cell I had fun learning the parts of the cell. We are all are similar to our mom or dad. Like for example I look like my mom and my dad. My green eyes come from my mom and my tallness I think comes from either my fathers dad or my fathers mom. I also got my thinness from my mom. When she was little she used to be very thin. My dad I`m not very sure. I also got my curly hair from my dad. He has really curly hair. You can tell that I`m mixed with my mom and my dad. Since my mom is mexican and my dad is italian I am very mixed. I don`t know where my tanned skin came from because my mom has light skin and so does my dad. Thats how similar I look compared to my mom and dad.
If you are wondering how you find the volume of a irregular shaped object. One day In my science class we were learning how to find the volume of a irregular shaped object. We learned how to measure thye object with A graduated cylinder. a graduated is a kind of tube you use to measure volume. Well how you use the graduated cylinder is you put your object inside the container. But before you put the object inside the container you have to measure the water. Then you put the object and subtract from what the measurment was before you put he object and after. That is the way you find the volme of a irregular shaped object. It`s not very difficult to do. You just have to know how to subtract. So it was not so difficult to learn how to measure the volume of a irregular shaped object.
In science my favorite project of the quarter is when chewed gum and weighed the mass of the gum every two minutes. I really liked that project because for the first time ever I actually get to chew gum in class. I learned a lot from that lesson how to measure mass. I also know now that the piece of gum shrinks when you chew it that`s why its mass gets smaller. That wasn`t the only time I got to chew gum in the classroom. One time when I was having CST testing the teacher gave the whole classroom gum for us to chew on. The gum project didn`t take us very long. One of my other project I liked very much was the project when we had to measure the mass of body part. It really wasn`t a body part but if it was that would be creepy. Well actually was one of those that grows in water. Well it was fun to see it get bigger everyday.
Today I went to science and learned about increment and volume. Especially how to measure volume. I know this must sound really boring doesn`t it and mostly that I have a test very soon isn`t that awesome. But still science can be boring and science can be actually really fun. Anyway it is a great to know about science so we could know that lions are dangerous to be around with. I also can`t wait to actually start using some chemicals or at least something fun. I also would love to disect some frogs. I think thats only for eighth graders. Science is only fun when you make it fun. Are you going to make it fun?
